Comments about Odyssey PC680 Battery:
The included post adapters are easy enough to install on the battery, but the negative terminal took a bit of finagling to get the cable connection tight as the battery is being slid into position. The width and depth of this battery is perfect on my bike (BMW R1150RT); however, the height is less than the stock BMW/Exide battery and requires some shimming to allow a tight retention strap. I have no regrets on making this purchase.

The service was good. It is hard to judge a battery right after you buy it, or anything where lifespan is critical. It works fine. I have a BMW R1200RT and this is the battery listed for it. The factory battery had protection for the positive terminal that this battery does not, and the factory cap does not hook on this battery, so I had to figure out how to cap the positive pole to make it safer. That seems like it would be a common problem and a 10 cent piece of plastic would fix most bikes, but the battery maker does not seem to agree with me. Also, you screw into the battery, so having a torque number for that would have been a help. All in all, it is about what you expect, and the life of it will determine the value. As with any battery, connect the negative terminal LAST. If you do that first and then contact the frame with a wrench or screw driver as you install the positive lead, you can do damage. No, I did not do that, but I read it and realized that connecting the negative to frame hurts nothing. Same with jumper cables, don't create a direct path between the poles.

I have purchased (3) of these PC680 batteries for three different vehicles so far (all under one year so far) and all is well and working great. The only thing that is kind of 'Rinky-Dink' is the terminal "L" adaptors. For the money they charge for these batteries, they need to come up with better quality adaptors. They work fine, just have that 'after-thought' look.
